What is a baby glider?

Baby gliders serve the same purpose as rocking chairs: helping baby fall asleep. Rather than rocking to and fro on a curved path, they help calm your newest addition by sliding back and forth on a linear path. Gliders tend to look similar to traditional armchairs, and can be used as such after baby starts walking and talking. Some come with ottomans that make the same soothing motion, and others have built-in locks that keep the seat in place.
