Large Serving Platters
Large Serving Platters: Feed a Crowd
For your next gathering, consider a large serving platter that displays appetizers, entrees and desserts. These oversized dishes provide space for generous portions—no matter what you're serving. Use one for appetizers. For instance, goat cheese and fig spread, coupled with crusty bread or crackers, wake up guests' appetites before the meal is ready. Or, arrange fruit, cut vegetables and cheese in an attractive array for a simpler choice. Be sure to set small plates, tongs and napkins nearby. Platters at the table also accommodate roasts cooked on separate bakeware pieces during family-style meals—giving a polished look to the tablescape. After the meat or poultry rests, slice pieces for guests before transferring to serveware. A set of serving utensils at the table facilitates the portioning out of entrees and side dishes, such as roasted potatoes, salad and stuffing. For easy cleanup, look for an extra large serving platter that is dishwasher-safe.
