For specific information about and caring for paper cord, see Care section below
Made in India
The seat is crafted of durable paper cord that is treated with a thin layer of wax to help prevent stains.
We recommend only cleaning the seat when absolutely necessary because it can cause some wear on the paper cord.
To clean the seat, soak a soft cloth in a premixed solution of water and neutral, colorless soap and wring the cloth thoroughly before using on the paper cord-don't use detergent on the paper cord.
Discoloration of the paper cord can occur if dark liquids and/or foods are spilled (i.e. red wine, fruit juice, tomato sauce, etc.).
If a spill or stain occurs on the paper cord, we recommend following the cleaning step above, and dabbing the area gently with the tightly wrung cloth (do not rub the cloth on the stained area).
After cleaning, allow the seat to dry before using again.
Paper cord is designed to last for many years; if necessary, it can be replaced or repaired by a skilled weaver.
If exposed to heat, such as sunlight, radiant floor heating or a fireplace, the chair may creak to some degree.
Vacuum or light brushing only to remove overall soil.
