summary
A smoothie packed with fresh fruit is always great for a healthy breakfast or snack. Plus, the flavor combinations are endless. Using fresh fruit that is in season or frozen will always give you the best results. We used bee pollen in this version; it can be substituted with other optional add-ins like chia or hemp seeds.
ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 plum, pitted and quartered
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup raspberries
- 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon bee pollen, optional
- 1–3 mint leaves, optional
- 6–8 ice cubes
directions
- Add the banana, plum, yogurt, blueberries, raspberries, maple syrup, bee pollen, 1 mint leaf (if using) and 6–8 ice cubes to a blender. Process until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with a mint leaf.
notes
Bee pollen is optional. It should be stored in your refrigerator.
You can prep smoothies ahead by placing all the fruit in a plastic bag in the freezer.
You don’t want to make smoothies too far in advance as they are best right out of the blender.
You can add chia seeds, flax seeds or hemp seeds for more nutrients.
