The History of Nordic Ware
Founded in 1946, Nordic Ware is a top, creative bakeware brand. Their history begins immediately after World War II when Dotty Dalquist, a woman with a vision, and Dave her veteran husband had the dream of starting a company. With $500 in the bank, they launched their fledgling business in the basement of their home located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Initially, they focused on Scandinavian specialty cookware. They sold rosette and krumcake irons along with ebelskiver (Danish pancake balls) and platte panne (Swedish pancake) pans. The chose the viking as Nordic Ware's logo, reflecting their own Scandinavian heritage.
In the early 1950s, they introduced what would become their most popular item, the Bundt pan. It's hard to believe that this kitchen staple was initially a slow seller. However, all that changed when a cake baked in a Nordic Ware Bundt pan won an national baking competition. Today, Nordic Ware estimates they more than 70 million households have Bundt pans.
Since Nordic Ware's humble origins, the company has grown and developed a variety of creative bakeware options. They are still family owned and headquartered in Minneapolis. Most of their bakeware options are made in the USA at their factory in Minnesota. Theysource their raw materials, nonstick coatings and even their packaging in the United States.
Nordic Ware enriches people's lives with their innovative kitchenware products. They are committed to high-quality and producing their bakeware and cookware in the United States whenever possible. Their products are environmentally sound and created with an eye on consumers safety using materials that are BPA-free.

Nordic Bakeware: Whip Up a Feast
Bake your signature cakes, brownies and other baked goods with high-quality Nordic Bakeware. While Nordic bakeware is known for baking delicious desserts, everything you create here doesn't have to be sweet. Heat vegetable dishes and dips in aluminum pans—look for those with lids for easy transportation to the fall picnic or spring potluck. For a bold presentation that's sure to grab attention, try cooking baked pasta dishes in a bundt pan. Use a pasta that's easy to mold to the edge of the pan as it bakes, such as angel hair or spaghetti. Boil spaghetti in a saucepan before draining in a strainer, then combine pasta, sauce and any extras such as spinach or ricotta in the bundt pan. After you're finished baking dinner, don't forget dessert: create classics treats such as brownies, cookies and cakes, and set up a decorating station complete with frosting and sprinkles. After you're finished eating, make sure you wash your Nordic bakeware by hand to best preserve non-stick finishes.
