Double the hugs, double the kisses, double the love with twins! If you or you or someone you know is expecting twins soon, it’s time to plan a twin baby shower. Celebrate the two babies-to-be (and their parents!) by throwing a twin baby shower to remember. Not sure where to begin? We’ve got twin baby shower ideas from gifts to food to favors that will make the event extra special.

Twin Baby Shower Basics
First, let’s set a date. When throwing a baby shower for a single baby, we suggest a shower date about 4 to 6 weeks before the due date. However, twins traditionally arrive earlier than planned so you may want to book the twin baby shower at least 2-3 months before the due date. This also gives the parents-to-be plenty of time to organize, wash, and assemble all of the gear, clothes, etc. that they receive at the shower.
Once you pick a date, it’s time to talk about the budget. Just because there are double the babies doesn’t mean it has to be double the budget. They’re a plenty of ways to throw a beautiful baby shower for twins without breaking the bank (think: making the food and the invitations, etc.) The location can also be a cost saver: You could throw it at someone’s home, or at a local public park.

Twin Baby Shower Themes
Before you go too far into planning, you want to set the theme–and twin baby shower themes are full of fun! Think of your favorite twosome and roll with it. Some of our favorite twin baby shower ideas include: two peas in a pod (think pretty green, white, and yellow colors, this is a great one if you want to keep the genders a surprise), taco twos-day (think a taco bar, bright colors, pinta) or thing 1 and thing 2 (based on the classic Dr. Seuss book). Other great ideas include a tea for two, s’more fun with two, or your favorite dynamic duo (Bert and Ernie, Batman and Robin, etc.)
Once you’ve picked a twin baby shower theme, the next step is to select the invitations–you could send out either a digital invitation or printed one. The twin baby shower invitations should match the theme that you have chosen and give all the details for the day along with the baby registry information for gift buying. Make sure to send out the invitations 6-8 weeks before the event so that guests have plenty of time to plan and buy.

Twin Baby Shower Food Ideas
No matter the square footage of your space, keeping things organized and still looking stylish is always a challenge. Great quality nursery storage can be a life saver. When you explore storage ideas like cubbies, shelving, bookcases and toy boxes, also consider their longevity.
“I love dressers with a lot of different sized drawers, like our Hampshire and Bodie dressers,” Kim says. “Small drawers are up top for tiny baby things, and larger drawers on the bottom for everything else.”

Twin Baby Shower Games
It’s not all fun and games, or is it? Keep the joy coming by playing a game or two at the shower. While traditional shower games are great, we love these ones that have a twin twist. First up, don’t say “twins”. Each guest takes one clothes pin and pins it to their clothes. Anytime someone hears a guest say the word “twins,” that person's pin can be stolen. The person with the most pins at the end of the baby shower wins!
Another fun twin baby shower game is to name as many pairs as possible in a set time. The winner can receive a little gift. Another timed game that is alway fun is matching the socks. Guests match as many socks as they can as fast as they can.

Twin Baby Shower Favors
The final touch of the day is a favor to give the guest as a small way of saying “thank you” for coming to celebrate the parents-to-be. Favors shouldn’t cost too much. We like the idea of giving a gift under $25. Some of our favorite favorites for a twin boy baby shower or a twin girl baby shower include pairs of items like an olive oil and vinegar set, a pair of taper candles, a pair of dish towels or salt and pepper shakers.
