Veneer Wood Cabinets
What is Veneer Wood?
Veneer wood refers to wood that has been sliced extremely thin and has been mounted onto a substrate like plywood. This technique is useful in many types of furniture because it helps to avoid warping or cracking, which can occur in solid hardwoods due to changes in humidity. Veneer wood is made from real wood like walnut or ash but is often more cost effective than using solid wood. In many cases, using veneer wood also produces a finished product that is more durable.
At Crate and Barrel, you can shop for a wide selection of veneer wood furniture like bookcases for a living room, bar cabinets for a dining room, filing cabinets for a home office, or media cabinets for a bedroom. Many of our veneer wood pieces use a mix of solid wood and veneers.
