summary
There is something so sweetly nostalgic about soft serve ice cream—but we are updating it with a modern flavor. Whether served on a cone or in a bowl, this salted caramel soft serve recipe is the perfect balance between sweet and salty.
ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- â…” cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons prepared caramel sauce
- 1 ½ tablespoons sour cream
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon instant vanilla pudding powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
directions
- Add all of the ingredients to a mixing bowl and whisk until caramel sauce is completely incorporated. Pour into a Ninja CREAMi Swirl pint, cover and transfer to the freezer. Freeze for a full 24 hours.
- When you are ready to serve, remove the Swirl pint from the freezer and follow manual instructions for the perfect soft serve.
notes
You really want to read all of the directions on your Ninja CREAMi machine before you start. It is super simple to use, but you don’t want your ice cream base to melt while you are fussing with directions. You want the base to go straight from the freezer into the machine for best results.
You can omit the salt, if you prefer.
Use best-quality caramel sauce in this salted caramel soft serve recipe for the best flavor.
Topping ideas: flaky sea salt (reduce salt in recipe to ¼ teaspoon), chocolate drizzle, extra caramel drizzle.
