ingredients
- 1 French baguette
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 6 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto
- 1 small apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut 24 â…“-inch thick slices from the baguette and lay them on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with the olive oil and lightly season with salt and pepper.
- Bake on the middle rack in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and top each crostini with a piece of cheese. Return the pan to the oven and bake until the cheese is melty, about 2 minutes.
- Place the crostini on a serving platter. Drape a small piece of prosciutto onto each crostini and top each with an apple slice. Drizzle the crostini with honey and garnish with thyme leaves.

Crostini toasts can be made up to 3 weeks in advance and frozen. Cool completely and store in a resealable plastic bag.
